Traveling as long been a prescription for health. Not only can traveling help you expand your mind, help you reinvent yourself (or find yourself for those younger readers); it can completely reinvigorate, energize and inspire you. That’s why we’ve found a few of our favorite places to do just that.
In fact, it’s become so popular that many travel agencies specialize in health and wellness holidays. These include spa days, yoga trips, meditation holidays and cleansing breaks.
Here’s our three favorite places to find yourself again, and to restore your health
3. Sedona, Arizona
Sedona Arizona is known for its red rocks, which, as the myth goes, radiates the power of the earth. It is known around the world as one of the most spiritual places in the United States. Apart from physical healing, it is home to many tourists who are looking for spiritual or emotional healing.
Apart from the many normal tourist activities (museums, amazing places to eat and luxurious hotels and spas) the main attraction is the rocks! Whether you want to participate in the many yoga classes or sit by yourself and meditate yourself to happiness, this is one of our favorite places to relax!
Known for its crazy parties and nightlife, there is another side to Thailand which many tourists don’t take the time to appreciate. Many people are learning about the amazing scenery of Thailand, combined with its lush vegetation. Riding an elephant trhought the jungle was just one of the many highlights we encountered when visiting Thailand. It is however also a great place for yoga retreats .
If you do visit, don’t leave without a traditional Thai massages, which will take all your problems away, even if it’s just for a second!
While a little too hectic for my taste, places like Mumbai attract any tourists. However, if you steer away from these tourist havens, you can find, much like in Thailand, beautiful countryside and amazing scenery. India is home to meditation and yoga, and there is no better place for a retreat to cleanse the soul.
The hilltop retreats come highly recommended, but you will need to speak to a travel agent to get the best deals and completely understand where you’re going and how you’ll get there.
People tend to come back from such retreats completely changed. This is definitely the place to find yourself, and find that peace and calmness so many of us crave.
